Description

A French single malt from a cognac house. It's made from organic barley malted and kilned by La Malterie de l'Ouest, then distilled in a Charentais alembic, the same still tradition used for cognac. Five years in oak is followed by a finishing period in the estate's own 10-year-old organic Pineau des Charentes casks, which lends fruit sweetness and roundness. Bottled at 46%, with white-fruit and honey notes. The name references the Auld Alliance, the 1295 treaty between France and Scotland, a nod to the estate's dual French-Scottish heritage

Méry Melrose is a family-owned, artisan Cognac house founded in 2012 by François and Janis Méry. As an independent producer, the house organically grows its own grapes and carefully oversees every step of production—from vinification to distillation—to craft exceptional Cognac.

At the core of their philosophy is a commitment to organic farming and viticulture (the cultivation and harvesting of grapes).

Each bottle features a distinctive design, reflecting the character of the Cognac within. The label art is inspired by prehistoric cave paintings found in France—dating back over 18,000 years—when humans lived closely alongside animals. These ancient images of animals, human figures, and abstract signs symbolize our shared history, creativity, and timeless connection to nature.

The rose emblem represents love—for family, for each other, and for the craft of Cognac-making.
