$202.00
A 1995 vintage from the famous Lacourtoisie house of Grand Bas Armagnac.
This 1995 vintage has a bold, leathery nose with a touch of mint after a while. The palate is smooth and lingering well into the finish. A very contemplative drink.
Lacourtoisie of Domaine de La Coste is located in the Grand Bas Armagnac region, a sub-region of Bas Armagnac that is no longer recognised but considered an absolute premium country for the spirit. A famous and hugely respected name amongst connoisseurs, everything about the house is understated from the labelling to the lack of extravagant, flamboyant tasting notes and chest-beating.
The house focuses on baco grapes.

Tasting note:
Made from 100% Baco grapes. Once beyond the varnishy/resiny/sappy opening sniffs, this yields delightful aromas of roasted nuts, dates, vanilla, pepper and sweet oak. A surprisingly soft, medium-bodied Armagnac framed by fine astringency, unfolding with flavours of oak shavings, prunes, raisins and orange zest and near-zero burn. The finish is oaky, moderately tannic with threads of vanilla and dates through the aftertaste.
