Swiss Alpine Whisky

Säntis Malt

Säntis Malt is the whisky arm of Brauerei Locher, a family brewery in Appenzell, Switzerland. The Locher family has brewed beer since the 1800s, and in 1999 they extended their craft into single malt whisky production, taking advantage of Switzerland’s lifted restrictions on grain distillation.

Their whiskies are matured in old beer casks, embracing the brewery’s heritage and integrating beer-influenced character into their spirits. The brand balances tradition, regional identity, and innovation, producing Alpine whiskies that reflect both their brewing roots and Swiss craftsmanship.
