Armagnac · A Gascon Family House
The brandy France keeps for itself.
Bas-Armagnac from a single Gascon family, ten years in oak, with the nutty, caramel depth and rancio that only patience delivers. One to pour slowly, and savour.
If you drink whisky, you already get it
Cognac gets the fame.
Armagnac keeps the character.
Nº I
Older than Cognac
France's oldest brandy, distilled in Gascony since the 1300s. Small, rural and family-run, Delord among them.
Nº II
Distilled once, on purpose
A single gentle pass through the still, where Cognac goes twice. More fruit, oak and texture survive into the glass.
Nº III
Reads like a single malt
Aged in oak, poured neat, dry to finish. If you like older or sherried whiskies, the rancio is familiar ground.
In the glass
Ten years in oak
Delord XO · Bas-Armagnac · 40%
Priced like a young single malt.
Nose
Amber in the glass. Caramel and vanilla up front, with candied fruit and a warm nuttiness behind.
Palate
A touch of fire, then it settles into caramel, vanilla and toasted nut, with rancio building underneath.
Finish
Long, dry and nutty. The reason you pour it neat and let it sit.

Tap a question to expand
Will it taste sweet?
No. The caramel and vanilla are aromas, not sugar. It finishes dry, closer to an aged whisky than a liqueur. If sweet, sticky brandy has put you off before, this is a different drink.
Is the XO the right one to start with?
Yes. Delord’s range runs from a 5-year VSOP to a 25-45 year Premium. The 10-year XO is the sweet spot: old enough for the rancio and nutty depth to arrive, without the price of the old vintages.
What does “Bas-Armagnac” mean?
It’s the most prized of the three Armagnac zones. Sandy soils give a softer, more aromatic spirit, and it’s home to the region’s best-known houses. On a label, it’s a quality marker.
How should I serve it?
Neat, at room temperature, in a decent-sized glass. No ice needed. Best after dinner, or alongside dark chocolate or an aged hard cheese.
Would it make a good gift?
An easy, considered gift for anyone who drinks whisky or Cognac. Delord is also known for birth-year vintages going back decades, if you’re marking a particular year.
