St James Distillery
St James 1997 Single Cask Rhum Vieux 42.7% 700ml
Saint James Single Cask 1997 is a tribute to the savoir-faire of Saint James distillery and celebrates the 20th anniversary of the AOC Martinique. After one very dry period between February to March, this cuvée is one of the driest vintages before 2000 for Saint James. The perfect harvest with a lot of qualitative canes created a rum full of ripe fruit aromas and natural sweetness. This cask has been aged for more than 10 years to develop an aromatic palette. Colour: Mahogany in colour. Nose: A nose on the sweet spices followed by cinnamon. Palate: In the mouth, this Saint James single cask opens on dried fruit, cocoa and mocha. Final: All roundness is ample on the prune and a cigar box.
St James one of oldest and largest distilleriy in Martinique Island (Caribbean Island). It is a Saint-James slogan in honour of Martinique and it's simply the truth. Its story and taste highlight this island blessed with rum. Besides being a primordial part of Martinique's economy, Saint-James is also one of its cultural element. Every day, thanks to the media and its spirit of initiatives, Saint-James contributes to reading, singing and entertaining manifestations by sponsoring shows, traditional fairs and games. Martinique beats to Saint-James' tune, while it drinks the St James âAgricoleâ Rum. The AOC Rhum Agricole de la Martinique restricts production to the short best season for the cane to pack aromas, compels that all and only the fresh juice of the cane be used, contrary to 95% of the world rums using the left-overs (Molasses, stalks) of the sugar refining industry. Agricole Rum belongs to the world of cognac or Armagnac, whenever Traditional Rum (also known as Industrial) is in the grappa / pomace world.
