Description

The house Sloe Gin is a tribute to the Grand Duke of Ponant, Philippe le Bon de Bourgogne. This meticulously crafted gin has a beautiful complexity, its enveloping and persistent flavor offers a very harmonious tasting worthy of the house's know-how.

ORIGIN

At the end of the Second World War, Maison Gabriel BOUDIER became one of the rare specialists in French Gin by winning the supply of Gin to the American army in Europe. This Sloe Gin, with its brilliant grenadine color, pays homage to the prince representing the incarnation of the alliance between Burgundy and England. There is no doubt that if our DUKE Sloe Gin had existed in its time, the Duke of Burgundy, Philip the Good, would have presented it at his table.

ELABORATION

Made from sloes, the whole sloes are macerated in gin previously distilled by us. All the flavours and colour of the flesh and stone of the sloe are solubilised in the gin, to which a judicious dose of sugar is added after 5 weeks of maceration to obtain this traditional liquor, whose origins go back to British domestic traditions.

TASTING

This plum coloured gin has aromas of sloe berries, candied prunes and almonds. The palate is round, tasty and rich, leaving a fresh and ripe fruit finish. Our Sloe Gin is created with the utmost care and precision, hence its exceptional quality and taste.

USAGE

Sloe Gin Duke is so delicious and balanced that it can be enjoyed neat on the rocks. You can also add a tonic water or enhance your cocktails. In the same range, you will also find our London Dry Gin which is one of the perfect bases to have when making your cocktail.

Our Promise

Each one of our bottles is taste-tested and hand-chosen by some of the best palates in the southern hemisphere. Only once a bottle has been deemed crème de la crème, do we add it to our catalog. Finding the perfect bottle isn't always easy - but with us, it is.

Gabriel Boudier thus rhymes today with moments of tasting and authenticity, which we invite you to discover, experience and share. Gabriel Boudier house is a family for two reasons. Since 1936, it has been the Battault family which, from generation to generation, has been committed to promoting the Boudier tradition, while being particularly concerned with its development. Today, it is developing a real family of flavors, with new and particularly diverse ranges of liquors, creams and specialties.
