A rare example of vintage Armagnac distilled entirely from Folle Blanche grapes. in 1807 by Jean Boingnères and now run by Martine Lafitte, Domaine Boingnères has just 20 hectares and makes only top quality Armagnac. The wine is distilled in a 'Sier' still and then aged in 420 litre oak barrels, Strangely it has a dry ageing cellar creating a much slower ageing but an astonishing quality which makes Boingnères one of the few very best Armagnacs. And Martine makes sure that it is the dearest.

Montreur d’Ours is an entirely new Bas-Armagnac “Hors d’Âge” (XO) that blends 10 to 20-year-old barrels of the Plant de Graisse, Ugni blanc and Baco grape varieties.
This cuvée pays tribute the Grassa-Artaud’s family’s ancestors, originally from Ercé, a small village nestled in the mountains of Ariège, at the foot of the Pyrenées, who maintained the bear tamer tradition. In 1912, they acquired Domaine Tariquet in Gascony that had been making Armagnac since 1683.

The estate is located west of the Bas Armagnac terroir, on the edge of the Landes forest. In this intense nose, we perceive aromas both fruity (mirabelle plum, white peach and fresh grapes) and herbaceous (fennel, mint). A very pleasant nose. On the palate, this Blanche d?Armagnac is smoother, with a very dry profile. Very intense, this Armagnac offers a palate with a lot of volume. Spicy notes of chili peppers and pepper prolong the pleasure. Ideal for cocktails in a Margarita or mojito style, in association with vegetal aromatic profiles.
