Armagnac from the Bas region is considered to have the most finesse, also tending to yield spirits that are very supple in their youth. Plantings are mostly Bacco and Ugni Blanc. The Northwestern portion of the Bas-Armagnac (known casually as the Grand Bas Armagnac) has a concentration of quality producers, especially in the department of Les Landes.Deep polished copper colour. Exudes sweet aromas of dates, toffee apple, vanilla, chocolate and nutmeg. The palate is full bodied, plush and round with medium dry flavours of dates, cocoa and soft spice perfectly counterpointed by drying and slightly grippy tannins. Dried apricot, nutmeg and clove aftertaste reverberates with surprising length, echoing back minutes after the final sip.

Gourmet and refined floral hints (rose), vanilla and candied orange notes on the nose. The palate is not overly oaky but more on the dried citrus fruits, orange zest, spiced bread and a touch of ginger. The finish of candied orange and citrus notes persists, quite suave with very good length.

Tasting Notes:
Candied nose, close to the core, spicy with nuances and complexity. Airing confirms the aromatic palette and clarifies this character of candied orange and musk. The palate is full-bodied, precise, the tannins well melded, the harmony of fruit and oak seduces and delivers us in progression the dried fig and the prune. The finish seems magical, very pure, lingering all in sweetness.

Fine and feminine on the nose; cedary oak then enticing scents of pecans, honey, plums / prunes, raisin slice and light pepper... sweeter notes of vanilla, sticky date and old muscat develop after five minutes in the glass. Silky and elegant with an attractive thread of dried fruits and baking spices carried by super fine tannins. Light rancio. Good length. Feminine and quite finessed. 40% Alc./Vol.
Tasting note : Tea-soaked raisins and candied peel, with a spice that highlights the complexity of the palate. More dried fruit and jasmine blossom on the nose give a spring-like warmth.
