For three generations, the Drouin family has been passionate about cider apples which they transform in several ways. through rangers of cider, Pommeau, Calvados, and Gin.

Inspired by French knowledge of vermouth production, Guillaume Drouin is looking for ways to transfer these production methods to the world of apples in the production of a new aperitif. After several years of experimentation and research, synthesizing the production methods of Pommeau de Normandie and those of Vermouth, he created the ‘ABC de Christian Drouin’, an aperitif based on Calvados.

The art of ABC production combines the maturation of an apple must with a young calvados, its aging in oak barrels, and its aromatization with a bouquet of plants and spiced, such a Quinquina, Mugwort, Cinnamon, orange, elderflower and yuzu.

ABC offers an intense bouquet of flavours, mixing aromas of apple and spices.

Best enjoyed over ice or mixed in cocktails.

While the Pays d'Auge Calvados requires prolonged aging in oak barrels to flourish, a Calvados produced from apples and pears, and distilled in a column still, offers an aromatic universe dominated by fruit, palatable from an early age.

For this reason, CHRISTIAN DROUIN preferred to offer for "entry-level" a Calvados partly produced in the establishment he operates in Domfront. This calvados derives its originality from the high percentage of perry pears used in conjunction with cider apples. The soil (schist and granite) and the distillation process (a single distillation) also contribute to its typicality. It is ideal for the preparation of cooking recipes, apple granita and cocktails requiring a fruity base alcohol. La Sélection is an Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée calvados.
