This range was born from Marc Darroze's desire to experiment with organic farming on the terroirs of Gascony. In close collaboration with some of the house's partner winegrowers, this range has been built up little by little, from the vineyard to bottling, over the years of aging perfectly mastered. The crazy white grape variety is favoured in the range, even though it remains the most sensitive and delicate to produce. Its finesse and elegance will be sublimated by these production conditions. respectful. The hand and the experience of the producer are therefore essential in order to pay full attention peculiar to these organic vines which will ultimately produce an Armagnac of rare purity and exhilarating richness. A return to the roots, to the beginning, where Armagnac suffered only the vagaries of nature without any other alteration. Time will then do its work and let Armagnac reveal all these aromas.Tasting Notes: Straw yellow colour. The nose is fruity (candied orange peel, dried apricot, prune, mango), spicy (fine spices, vanilla). There are also pastry flavours (honey, brioche, almond). The nose is very fine and delicate. Finesse in the mouth, thanks to light, silky tannins. Pretty roundness in the mouth despite its young age. We find fruity aromas of the nose, spices. Nice length in the mouth.

In Gascony, this grape is both used in distillation (over 50% of the distillation) and in the making of Cotes de Gascogne wines. It often brings balance and finesse. The nose is straightforward, moderately intense, smooth and very delicate, with typical aromas (grape, plum, quince) and more surprising ones (fresh cane, cane sugar). This Blanche is dry, without sweetness, silky and still very delicate. Beautiful aromas of bitter almond, vine flower and raisin reinforce this finesse. Very long on the palate. May be enjoyed on its own or as a long drink with combinations like cucumber, elderflower or orgeat syrup.

Darroze Blanche d'Armagnac 100% Folle Blanche 49% 700ml
$123.00
The Folle Blanche grape is the historical grape variety of Armagnac. For many years (even before the phylloxera crisis) it was the only grape variety planted in Gascony and was at that time known as the local Piquepoult. It produces very fine and delicate Armagnacs. The nose is very intense, very fruity (grapefruit, plum, fresh grapes) and spicy (Sichuan pepper). On the palate, this eau de vie is lively, precise, with aromas of fresh pineapple and mirabelle plum with vegetal notes. This could well be used as a variation in Martini dry, replacing the gin.

Showing no loss of vitality after six decades in oak, it's seductive and silky with a superb rush of fruit cake, baking spices, rancio and café crèmes framed by super fine tannins and a creamy finish that's briefly succulent and fabulously long.
