From Mauritius and France comes a refreshing and easy to make cocktail to spice up your day. The Spicy Beach Cocktail combines two products that spice up your taste buds and makes you dream of a sultry, hot, tropical holiday in the sun. Hailing from Mauritius, Beach House Spiced Rum (40% ABV) has floral and honeysuckle aromas leading on to blood orange with soft spice and hints of vanilla developing in the glass. The palate bursts with sweet spices such as cinnamon and clove and develops into bitter orange blossom, marmalade, toffee, desiccated coconut, caramel and crystallised ginger. The finish is sweet, long and satisfying with lingering orange blossom notes. Pimento Drink is a non-alcoholic spicy sparkling ginger beer made with ginger from China and the Ivory Coast, tonic water, and chilli pepper from Jamaica as well as bitter orange, lime, oregano and gentian. Low in sugar with vibrant ginger notes upfront, it develops into a gentle and lingering kick of chilli heat on the finish. A versatile mixer, Pimento Drink goes well with a wide range of white and dark spirits and adds a spicy element to a cocktail or mixed drink. In the Spicy Beach Cocktail recipe below, the flavours come together in perfect harmony and a balance of spiced rum notes with uplifting ginger and a hint of chilli.
