Expands with time in the glass adding suggestions of fig paste, nectarine, almond pastry, vanilla custard, black pepper and rancio. Entry is a little firm, oak-heavy, dry; countered by a burst of sweet fruits as the wood dovetails into fig, apricot, nectarine and vanilla. Deep, dark mahogany in colour, the Armagnac has aromas of ripe fruit, cinnamon and fine oak, and a rich palate with sweet fruit notes, vanilla, caramel, fruit cake, Christmas pudding and warm spices. Complex and layered, it lingers long in a harmonious balance of sweet fruit, warm spice and fine oak.

Made from 100% Baco grapes. Once beyond the varnishy/resiny/sappy opening sniffs, this yields delightful aromas of roasted nuts, dates, vanilla, pepper and sweet oak. A surprisingly soft, medium-bodied Armagnac framed by fine astringency, unfolding with flavours of oak shavings, prunes, raisins and orange zest and near-zero burn. The finish is oaky, moderately tannic with threads of vanilla and dates through the aftertaste.

A subtle nose of fine spices (white chocolate, vanilla), slightly creamy (crème brûlée, age of almonds) where woody and toasted notes develop (toast, liquorice, butterscotch). The tannins in the mouth are firm, silky and present at the same time. We find this balance between wood, spices and fruit. Long in the palate.

NOSE: fruit notes of quince, orange and apricot are dominant. With air (10 minutes, worth the wait), the Armagnac reveals fines spiced flavours and some very delicate oaky fragrances.
PALATE: we feel fruits and spices again. The tannins are silky and fine. Great finish.
