Silky and elegant with an attractive thread of dried fruits and baking spices carried by super fine tannins. Light rancio. Good length. Feminine and quite finessed. 40% Alc./Vol.
Tasting note : Tea-soaked raisins and candied peel, with a spice that highlights the complexity of the palate. More dried fruit and jasmine blossom on the nose give a spring-like warmth.

At the Château de Gaube, the Morel family produces the Bas-Armagnac. Around the farm you will find a whole 6.5 hectares of vineyards with about 40 year old vines with the Baco grape variety. Saint Martin distills the entire production and works with a continuous distillation process where no more than 52% alcohol is obtained. For the cask storage, they use oak from the local forest.
Darroze Collection Unique Vintage 1971 Château de Gaube is bottled at 42.9% alcohol and consists of 100% Baco. This Bas-Armagnac has spent a full 47 years on oak barrels.

Situated in Bas-Armagnac, Delord's distillery is to be found in the village of Lannepax, the ancestral home of the Delord family. They comment, "Our old Sier Armagnac alambics, that we wouldn't part with for all the gold in the world, produce less than 30 litres of eau-de-vie an hour. Our cellars contain our old treasured vintages and include more than 700 oak barrels that protect and age the Armagnac eau-de-vie dating from the 20th Century to the present day". The Baco 22 A is an original feature in France’s vine-growing landscape. It is a hybrid, offspring of Folle Blanche and Noah, invented by a schoolteacher from the Landes, one Monsieur Baco, in the wake of the phylloxera invasion. It is particularly well adapted to the sandy soils of Bas-Armagnac where it produces eaux-de-vie which are full and smooth with hints of ripe fruit, especially after a lengthy ageing period.
Tasting note:
Colour: A deep topaz hue with gold highlights.
Nose: the nose is marked mainly by sweet spices with hints of roasted coffee and cinnamon. A very complex nose.
Palate: The attack is pure/direct and lively. Very rich with a dominant of liquorice and preserved plume tannins. The finish is long marked by wood, toasted bread and spices.
After opening, the bottom of the glass is deep with hints of preserved plums and apricots.
