Generally categorised as a fortified wine (aka ‘mistelle’), Renier Pineau is made from a blend of lightly-fermented grape must and Cognac eau-de-vie. Vieux is oak aged for at least 5 years, while Extra Vieux remain in cask for a minimum of 10 years.
Available in Red, White and Rose, this is typically drunk chilled as an aperitif, or included as an ingredient in cocktails.
This beautiful mistelle is Deep gold / copper colour. Aromas of bitter almond mingle with manuka honey, dried apricot and sour cherry notes. The palate is concentrated, clean and fresh with almond and dried apricot flavours beautifully balanced by refreshing acidity. Soft, warming spirit. Late pecan, honey burst. Finishes clean and dry with a bitter almond, dried apricot fade.
Because of this freshness on your palate, you’ll find you will enjoy this all year round.
