The Grosperrin 1988 Grande Champagne Vintage Cognac is part of the Cognac de Collection from this highly coveted house. An old Cognac that pays careful attention to the nuances of the Grande Champagne cru. Famous for producing the finest Cognacs in the region, it largely has millions of years of fossilization to thank for its composition. The high chalk content and limestone subsoil make for a very fine eaux-de-vie, that take longer to mature but develop in the most incredible way. The complexity of a Grande Champagne Vintage cannot be underestimated.
Golden colour. From the nose, we are struck by all of this Cognac characteristic of Grande Champagne. Lively notes of hawthorn, oak wood, liquorice. Then currants, candied apricot. On the palate, the attack is frank and greedy, very quickly the Cognac turns into a drop of nectar (“mercury”), and the spicy notes explode. A long finish, definitively signing its terroir.
